Changes to NHS Cervical Screening Programme – Results

From September 2025, patients with normal results (patients who do not need a follow-up until next screening date) will receive results via NHS App message. An SMS message may be sent to prompt patients to check the NHS App. If the notification is not opened within 72 hours of delivery, a letter will be sent to you.

Patients with abnormal results (patients who need review in colposcopy clinic) and patients without the NHS App will continue being notified by post.
