New Patient Repeat Medications

If you are a new patient – ALL of your repeat medication is stopped during the transfer of your GP registration. This is a system wide process and cannot be changed. You will need to contact us to arrange a medication review so that we can re-start your medication. All GP practices are different in their approach to prescribing certain medications such as controlled drugs including opiates and therefore it is important to have your medications reviewed.

Ordering your repeat medications

It is the responsibility of the patient to order the medication they need. Here are the ways in which you can request your medication

NHS App – You can see a list of your repeat medication and you can select with a tick box which ones you want to order. If the medication isn’t due for issue yet, it won’t appear in the list.

You can have proxy access to another’s information but you will need their written consent before we can grant access.

You can see when the requested medication has been issued and check your nominated pharmacy

You can download the barcode of the prescription if your pharmacy is having difficulty locating it on the system

If you don’t already have access to the NHS app, please download from the Appstore on your device and contact reception to be given access.

Email – you can email your medication request to nnicb-nn.c84010@nhs.net

  • Please ensure you give us your full name, date of birth and first line of your home address so that we can be sure we have the correct details for you

Online – Visit our website https://trentsidemc.co.uk and submit your request via our online consulting platform Accurx which can be found at the bottom of the home page.

  • Click the ‘online consultation supplier’ button as shown below

This will take you into the system where you select the option ‘ I have an admin query’ then the option of a ’repeat prescription’

Once you have entered the information about the medication you want, you will be taken to the screen to enter your personal details

Paper Requests – You can also drop your paper requests into reception at either of our sites (Netherfield or Carlton Hill). If you are using this option, please ensure your details (Name, date of birth and 1st line of home address) are written clearly on the paper along with the name and dose of the medication you require.

  • You can also use the back page of one of your prescriptions which has the tick box option to select what you would like to order – this is really helpful to our reception team as the medications are clearly labelled

Please be aware that if you request a medication that is not on your list of repeats, we will not be able to issue it and will ask that you arrange an appointment to discuss this with a Clinical Pharmacist, Nurse or GP.
